Lehrproben für neue Professur "Dynamische Systeme"*
Liebe Studierende,
momentan läuft die Auswahl von Bewerber:innen für eine neue Professur "Dynamische Systeme" bei uns am Fachbereich. In der sogenannten "Berufungskommission" (BK) dazu sitzen auch zwei Studierende von uns und entscheiden mit darüber, wer letztlich den Ruf zu der Professur erhält. Die Bewerber:innen halten dafür in den kommenden Wochen "Lehrproben", das heißt eine etwa 25-minütige Vorlesung. Im Anschluss gibt es ein 10-minütiges Gespräch mit den Studierenden, wo ihr den:die Bewerber:in alles fragen könnt, was euch wichtig ist. Damit die studentischen Mitglieder in der BK ein breites Meinungsbild bekommen, ist es wichtig, dass möglichst viele Studierende zu diesen Lehrproben kommen! Die Lehrproben sollten, wenn sie gut sind, für jeden verständlich sein, der LinA und Ana gehört hat, ihr könnt aber natürlich auch kommen, wenn das noch nicht der Fall ist. Ihr habt hier die Möglichkeit, darauf Einfluss zu nehmen, wer in den kommenden Jahren diese Professur bekommen wird, nutzt sie!
Die Termine für die Lehrvorträge sind:
Mittwoch, 10. Mai um 10:10 Uhr und um 15:10 Uhr
Freitag, 12. Mai um 15:10 Uhr
Räume werden kurzfristig an den Hörsaaltüren und auf der Tafel bekannt gegeben. Lehrproben werden auf Deutsch oder Englisch gehalten, je nach Bewerber:in.
Spieleabend mit den Physiker:innen
Der FSR Physik lädt alle Mathematiker:innen ein zu einem gemeinsamen Spieleabend! Stattfinden wird der am
Freitag, 28. April ab 18 Uhr
in den Seminarräumen 1 und 2 der Jungiusstraße 9
(durch den Haupteingang mit dem rechts gelegenen Treppenhaus
im ersten Stock erreichbar)
Wir freuen uns, wenn viele von Euch kommen! Snacks und Getränke werden gestellt.
Schachturnier
Beim Schachturnier könnt ihr euer Eröffnungs- und Endgamewissen unter Beweis stellen oder einfach ein paar entspannte Matches spielen. Anfänger und erfahrene Spieler sind willkommen,
am 02. Mai im Raum 1240 ab 18 Uhr (s.t.)
mitzumachen. Das Format ist 10+5 und je nach Teilnehmerzahl, jeder gegen jeden oder Schweizer System. Bitte kommt halbwegs pünktlich. Wir freuen uns auf euch!
Filmabend
Euer FSR veranstaltet am
Dienstag, den 9. Mai ab 18 Uhr
einen Filmabend. Zu Beginn werden wir gemeinsam entscheiden welchen Film wir sehen wollen. Bringt dafür gerne euren eigenen Lieblingsfilm auf DVD mit. Der FSR wird auch ein paar Filme bereitstellen. Der genau Raum wird dann vor Ort im Foyer angeschrieben sein.
Komplett unzusammenhängend: Schnabeltiere haben keine Zähne. Sie zermahlen die Nahrung mithilfe von Horn-Platten.

Teaching samples for new professorship "Dynamic Systems"
Dear students,
The selection of applicants for a new professorship in "Dynamic Systems" is currently underway at our department. Two of our students are members of the so-called "appointment committee" (BK) and help decide who will ultimately be appointed to the professorship. In the coming weeks, the applicants will give "teaching samples", i.e. a lecture of about 25 minutes. Afterwards, there will be a 10-minute discussion with the students, where you can ask the applicant anything that is important to you. In order for the student members of the BK to get a broad opinion, it is important that as many students as possible come to these teaching samples! The teaching samples should be understandable for everyone who has heard the first-year bachelors courses, but of course you can also come if this is not yet the case. You have the opportunity here to influence who will get this professorship in the coming years, use it!
The dates for the lectures are:
Wednesday 10th May, at 10:10 and 15:10.
Friday 12th May, at 15:10
Rooms will be announced on the doors of the lecture halls and on the blackboard at short notice. Teaching samples will be either in English or German, depending on the applicant.
Games night with the physics department
The student council of the department of Physics (FSR Physik) invites all maths students to a joint games night! It will take place on
Friday, 28th April from 18:00
in the seminar rooms 1 and 2 of Jungiusstraße 9
(accessible via the main entrance through the staircase
on the right on the first floor)
We are looking forward to many of you coming! Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Chess tournament
At the chess tournament, you will be able to show off your opening and endgame skill, or just have some fun matches among your peers. Beginners and seasoned players are welcome to join us on
Tuesday, 2nd May from 18:00 in Room 1240.
The format will be 10+5 and, depending on participant numbes, either a free for all or swiss bracket. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Movie night
The FSR will be hosting a movie night on
Tuesday, May 9th at 6 pm in the Geomatikum.
We'll begin by deciding which movie to watch. Feel free to bring along your own favourite movie on DVD. The FSR will also provide some movies. You'll find the exact place on the blackboard in the foyer.
