Einladung zu den Vorträgen "Mathe im Beruf" während der OE

Während der OE (Orientierungseinheit für die Erstis) werden 6 Vorträge "Mathe im Beruf" (MiB) stattfinden. Dabei erzählen (ehemalige) Studierende von ihren Jobs während oder nach des Studiums. Die Veranstaltungen sollen den Erstis einen Einblick geben, was sie einmal mit ihrem Studium anfangen können. Da diese Vorträge aber sicherlich auch für alle anderen Studierenden interessant sind, seid ihr herzlich eingeladen, vorbeizukommen! Hier eine Auflistung der Berufsfelder und Zeiten:

• Lehrerin, am Donnerstag, 6. Oktober ab 14:00 Uhr
• Professorin, am Donnerstag, 6. Oktober ab 14:00 Uhr im Anschluss an den vorherigen Vortrag
• Machine Learning & Consulting, am Dienstag, 11. Oktober ab 14:00 Uhr
• Consulting, am Dienstag, 11. Oktober ab 14:00 Uhr im Anschluss an den vorherigen Vortrag
• Werkstudentin Data Science, am Mittwoch, 12. Oktober ab 16:00 Uhr
• Finanzmathematik, am Mittwoch, 12. Oktober ab 16:00 Uhr im Anschluss an den vorherigen Vortrag

Alle Vorträge finden im H1 statt. Es gibt auch eine digitale Teilnahmemöglichkeit, wenn ihr die wahrnehmen wollt, meldet euch am besten bereits einen Tag vorher (während der OE haben wir viel zu tun und reagieren möglicherweise langsamer auf Mails) bei uns unter

Master-Veranstaltungen während der OE

Vom 6. Oktober bis zum 14. Oktober findet die OE für alle Erstis der verschiedenen Mathematikstudiengänge statt. Dieses Jahr bieten wir eine Kennenlerngruppe speziell für Master-Erstis an, kommt also gerne zu unserer Auftaktveranstaltung am

  Donnerstag, 6. Oktober um 9:15 im H1 im Geomatikum, Bundesstraße 55!

Spieleabend MORGEN*

Euer FSR veranstaltet am

  Donnerstag, den 29. September ab 17:30 Uhr im 241

wieder einen Spieleabend in Präsenz! Freut euch auf die umfangreiche Spielesammlung des FSRs und lasst euren Tag mit einem gemütlichen Abend unter Kommiliton:innen und den neuen Erstis ausklingen. Direkt im Anschluss zum Vorkurs kommen die Erstis dazu. Wir freuen uns auf euch!

Die Wahl für den:die Hochschullehrer:in des Semesters (Sommersemester 2022) läuft noch! Stimmt jetzt für eure:n Favorit:in ab und voted euren Lieblingslehrenden nach oben.

Nach dem 5.10. wird die Wahl geschlossen und ausgewertet.

Wichtig: Schreibt auf jeden Fall, wieso eure Lieblingslehrenden den Titel Hochschullehrer:in des Semesters verdient haben, die Begründung hat ein hohes Gewicht.

Vollversammlung (Vorankündigung)

Zu Beginn des kommenden Semesters, am

  Montag, den 24.10. um 12 Uhr im H2

findet unsere Vollversammlung (im Anschluss an die Vorlesung Lineare Algebra) statt. Dort berichtet der FSR von seiner Arbeit im vergangenen Semester und es wird der neue FSR für das Sommersemester gewählt. Kommt gerne vorbei!

Komplett unzusammenhängend: Schnabeltiere haben nur eine Brutzeit pro Jahr, typischerweise zwischen den Monaten Juni und Oktober. Baby-Schnabeltiere werden Puggles genannt.

Invitation to the talks "Mathematical Jobs" during the orientation course (g)

During the orientation course for new students (German "Orientierungseinheit" or short "OE") there will be 6 talks titled "Mathematical Jobs" (German "Mathe im Beruf" or short "MiB"). In these talks, (former) students will talk about their jobs during or after their studies. The talks are meant to give new students a glimpse into career opportunities of maths students. These talks might also be interesting to all other maths students and so we invite you to listen as well! Keep in mind that as this is mainly geared to new bachelors students the talks will be in German, but we are happy to help you with translation if you want to ask questions. Here are the topics and times:

We will not have a lot of time during the OE and can't guarantee that we will be able to respond to your email on time if you write us on the day of the event.

Events for new masters students during the orientation course for new students

Dear new masters-students ("Master-Erstis"),

the orientation course for new students (German "Orientierungseinheit" or short "OE") of all mathematics courses at the University of Hamburg will take place from Thursday, Oktober 6th till Friday, Oktober 14th. This year we are offering a special meetup-group for masters students, so feel free to come to our opening event on

  Thursday, October 6th at 9:15 in lecture hall H1 in the Geomatikum, Bundesstraße 55!

There you will get all the information you need. Please note, that all the events of the orientation course are in German, though the welcome-group can be in English on request. Please talk to us before the opening event if you need translation! You can find more information, including a plan which of our events are relevant for masters students on our website (in German) at https://www.math.uni-hamburg.de/oe/ .

Games night TOMORROW*

The FSR is organizing another games night in person! You can look forward to the comprehensive games collection of the FSR and let the day end with a cozy night among fellow students and the new students.

  Date & Time: Thursday, September 29th from 17:30 in room 241, Geomatikum.

The new students (Erstis) will join after their prep course. We look forward to seeing you!

The vote for the teacher of the term (summer semester 2022) is still open! Vote now for your favorite lecturer!
